Biography

Allyson is the Senior Fellow, Social Innovation at the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto, Canada. She is also the Director of SiG@MaRS and has developed programs to support social entrepreneurs; a Centre for Impact Investing and the MaRS Solutions Lab. She is also a lecturer in Social Entrepreneurship and CSR at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. She has a long history in the NFP space leading transformative social projects such as the implementation of 211 - three digit access to human service information. She is strongly committed to helping social entrepreneurs become even more impactful through the creation of enabling environments. Her current focus is on integration of social innovation into the mainstream innovation agenda and creation of an intergenerational decelerator, allowing for deep reflection and the exchange of knowledge between boomers about to retire and next gen talent.
