Special Adviser for Programs, Nia Tero
David is a Special Adviser for Programs for Nia Tero, a new funding institution focused on securing indigenous guardianship of vital ecosystems. Nia Tero seeks to partner with and fund indigenous organizations and their supporters where there is a strong overlap of vital ecosystems, collectively held territory and existing or potential for strong governance and agency.
Prior to Nia Tero, David served as Director of Social Entrepreneurship for the newly formed Fossil Foundation. Before Fossil, David served as Principal at the Skoll Foundation and Program Officer of the Goldman Environmental Foundation. Prior to 2005, David worked for over a decade in the Amazon basin, working for various institutions, including the Inter-American Development Bank, the Field Museum of Chicago and the Amazon Alliance for Indigenous and Traditional Peoples of the Amazon Basin.
