Biography
Dr. Donald Green serves the World Literacy Foundation as Chairman for WLF–North America. Don’s work has centered around community wide literacy programs and access to education for socio-economical disadvantaged communities. Recently, Don’s emphasis has been on the Latino community in the United States, working to overcome intergenerational poverty by changing parental perceptions of education.
Don is also Vice President for Extended and International Operations at Ferris State University. Principal areas of work are the development of unique technology and science related programs for future labor markets, improving educational services to non-traditional student populations through extended sites and distance technology, and the University’s community outreach. Recent initiatives include an Entrepreneurship Institute, the Latino Center for Business and Economic Development, and an Academic Incubator designed to build next generation careers.
