CEO and co-founder, IDinsight
Dr. Neil Buddy Shah is the CEO and co-founder of IDinsight, a client-service organization that helps developing country governments, NGOs and social businesses make socially impactful decisions by using rigorous evidence. IDinsight carefully tailors a wide range of impact evaluation and other quantitative tools to enable our clients to design better policies, rigorously evaluate those ideas, and take informed action at scale to improve lives. IDinsight makes rigorous impact evaluation and other quantitative tools more demand-driven and responsive to the budgetary, operational and time constraints faced by policymakers and managers working in international development.
Dr. Shah has overseen IDinsight engagements in governance, clean energy, health, sanitation, education and finance across Africa and Asia. He has worked previously at the World Bank’s Governance and Public Sector Reform Unit and at MIT’s Jameel Poverty Action Lab.
Dr. Shah holds a B.A. in economics from Harvard University, an M.D. with special distinction in global health policy from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and an M.P.A.-International Development from Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He has represented IDinsight as an Echoing Green Fellow, a Rainer Arnhold Fellow, and one of Forbes Magazine’s top “30 under 30″ social entrepreneurs around the world.
