Olivier LAFOURCADE joined the World Bank in 1973. Over a period of 30 years in this institution, he held a number of high level positions, among which Director for Mexico, Colombia and Venezuela. Since leaving the Bank in 2002, Mr. Lafourcade has been an international consultant in the field of economic development. He is now Chairman of the Board of I&P Development, a venture capital company providing financing to small and medium size enterprises in Africa; board member of Results for Development (R4D), a think-tank in Washington and Epargne sans Frontières.
