Executive Director, Skylight
Paco de Onís grew up in several Latin American countries during a time of dictatorships. He is the Executive Director and Executive Producer of Skylight, a human rights media organization dedicated to creating documentary films and innovative media tools for long-term strategies to advance social and economic justice. Skylight's most recent film is "Disruption", which features the activist economists of Fundación Capital (2014 Skoll Awardee) working with economically marginalized women to challenge accepted notions of how to eradicate poverty in South America. During the past decade he has produced a series of documentary films telling transitional justice stories, along with companion interactive digital platforms: "Granito: Every Memory Matters" (to restore the collective memory of genocide in Guatemala); "IJCentral" (to promote global rule of law); "Dictator in the Dock" (a 24-webisode series on the genocide trial of former dictator Efraín Ríos Montt); and "The Toolbox" (a curated collection of online tools to aid in social change).
