Ron Boehm, with his wife Marlys are co-founders of Boma investments, LLC. They are social investors and social entrepreneurs taking direct roles in starting and funding their own projects. The primary for-profit business they have founded is in India (www.destaglobal.com), a distribution/ e-commerce/ education company serving the agricultural value chain.
The Boehms invest in social businesses that create local jobs, can become self-sustaining, and can support debt, royalty, and/or equity investments. Most investments are early stage or growing, in Africa, India, and the United States. These include RISE, which establishes virtual global collaborations to solve global challenges (www.risebeyond.org), World Merit, millenials supporting their communities in 200 countries, and over thirty other companies. The Boehms work closely with the Unreasonable Institute, Opportunity Collaboration, and created the Boehm Media Fellows, a diverse group of international journalists, videographers, and authors working in the social and environmental space.
Ron Boehm is a member of the World Presidents Organization, and is chairman of educational publisher ABC-CLIO.
