Sarah Emerson

Global Director, Women EmpoweredProject Concern International (PCI)

Biography

Sarah Emerson is the Global Director of the Women Empowered Initiative at Project Concern International (PCI) – an international development organization helping empower people to enhance health, end hunger and overcome hardship. Sarah leads PCI’s strategy and delivery of integrated women’s economic and social empowerment programming. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Conscious Capitalism’s San Diego Chapter as a founding member and current Chair of the Board Governance Committee.

Sarah has institutionalized nationally and internationally-scaled programs in the private, public and non-profit sectors while living and working across Asia, the Americas, Africa and the Middle East. Prior to joining PCI, she served as the Country Director for the mHealth Tanzania Partnership, a public-private-partnership (PPP) focused on utilizing mobile technology to improve public health (earning a top-five finalist nomination by GSMA for “Best Mobile Health Product or Service”). Sarah also supported JPMorgan Chase and the Government of Iraq while serving as a strategy consultant, and proudly supported KickStart International – a social enterprise trailblazer – in the design and implementation of its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and business processes.

Working full-time, she is currently earning her Master’s in Business Administration at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School and most recently completed her Executive Education at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in Non-Profit Financial Stewardship. Previously, she completed certificate programs in Project Management and Negotiation with the Project Management Institute and the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business, respectively, after earning bachelors’ degrees in International Relations and Economics from the University of Southern California.
