  Leif Coorlim

  Executive Editor, CNN Freedom Project, CNN

  Leif Coorlim is an award-winning journalist and executive editor of the CNN Freedom Project. He has overseen the broadcast of hundreds of stories on modern-day slavery from the network’s global headquarters in Atlanta. Coorlim has produced a number of award-winning documentaries on modern-day slavery including “The Fighters,” “Common Dreams” and “Innocence for Sale”, which won the 2010 CINE Golden Eagle Award. In less than four years of broadcasting the Freedom Project, CNN has helped free more than 1,000 people held in slavery, catalyzed public rallies, facilitated life-saving surgeries for tortured victims and changed federal laws and business practices from Cambodia to California. Previous to his work on human trafficking, Coorlim oversaw the network’s environmental programming, producing both of CNN’s long-standing series, “Eco-Solutions” and “Going Green.” He has also led CNN International’s “Impact Your World” segment, an initiative empowering its global audience to take action.

  Founding CEO/Strategic Advisor, GoodWeave

  Nina Smith is an award-winning leader and founding Chief Executive Officer of GoodWeave International (GoodWeave), the leading international NGO working to stop child labor in global supply chains. At GoodWeave's helm from 1999 to 2023, Nina pioneered a market-led model that has reduced child labor at scale in select sectors by shining a light on the most vulnerable supply chain workers; stopping abuse; and addressing root causes. A Skoll and Schwab Foundation Awardee, Nina advocates for child and worker rights through her writing, public speaking and the boards she serves, including The Fair Labor Association and the Better Buying Institute. Nina is also winner of the Tufts University Alumni Award for Active Citizenship and Public Service and the Center for Nonprofit Advancement’s EXCEL Award for excellence in chief executive leadership, and is a member of Elluminate’s Women’s Leadership Collective.

He is an award-winning social entrepreneur and leader in supply chain innovation, having led Verite for fifteen years. He began his career in China where he established two international NGOs. Dan is a graduate of Yale University, has an MA from the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and a certificate in Chinese from Nanjing Teacher’s University.

  Leslie Dach

  Founder & Chair, Protect Our Care

  Leslie is leading the effort to protect the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid in the U.S. Congress through his role as founder and chair of Protect our Care. He also serves as a senior advisor to Co-Impact and the Rockefeller Foundation. He served in the Obama Administration as Senior Counselor to the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, responsible for issues such as Ebola, Zika, the ACA, and nutrition policy. Previous roles include Executive Vice President and member of the management committee at Walmart Inc., where he led the development of initiatives in sustainability, food and nutrition, and women’s economic empowerment and the Walmart Foundation, global vice chairman of Edelman, a strategic communications firm, and senior capacities in six U.S. presidential campaigns. Leslie serves on the Board of the Environmental Defense Fund and Sunrun Inc., and is a member of the Yale University Council the Council on Foreign Relations.

  Kathy Calvin is President and CEO of the United Nations Foundation. She is a passionate advocate for multi-sector problem-solving, U.S. leadership on global issues, and the inclusion of women at all levels and in all sectors. The UN Foundation, created in 1998 with entrepreneur and philanthropist Ted Turner's historic $1 billion gift to support UN causes, advocates for the UN and connects people, ideas and resources to help the UN solve global problems. Kathy's career has spanned the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Before joining the UN Foundation as Chief Operating Officer in 2003, she served as President of the AOL Time Warner Foundation. She previously served in senior positions at AOL, Hill and Knowlton, and U.S. News & World Report. From 1976 through 1984 she was Senator Gary Hart's press secretary. She is a graduate of Purdue University.
