Biography
Dominique Bikaba is the Founder and Executive Director of Strong Roots Congo, a DRC-based organization focusing on human rights, conservation, and sustainable development. For over twenty-five years, Bikaba has worked to design and manage conservation and sustainable development programs aimed to balance human needs with those of forests and wildlife. His work emphasizes integrating indigenous knowledge into protected and conserved area management. Part of his expertise includes developing and managing great ape habitat connectivity projects for landscape and wildlife restoration in eastern DRC. Bikaba advocates for the integration of indigenous knowledge into applied sciences. He has supplemented his long commitment with advice and work with other national and international organizations. Bikaba holds a Master’s degree from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
