Biography

Heather McLeod Grant is a donor advisor, author, and entrepreneur with 30+ years of leadership in social impact. She is currently working with UHNW women ($100M+) to unlock greater giving. In 2015, Heather co-founded Open Impact–a national philanthropy advising firm–where she helped foundations and wealthy families channel $10B+ to worthy causes. Heather began her career in the 1990’s as an Echoing Green Fellow and co-founder of Who Cares Magazine. After obtaining an MBA, she worked at McKinsey & Co. and then helped lead Monitor Institute’s nonprofit practice. She was a Venture Partner with the Draper Richards Kaplan foundation; designed and ran the cross-sector New Leadership Network; and has served on more than 10 nonprofit boards. Heather is the co-author of the bestselling Forces for Good and lead author on The Giving Code, The Giving Journey, Pioneers in Justice, The New Normal, Leading Systems Change, and other publications. She has an MBA from Stanford, and an AB from Harvard.
