Simone Gelinas

Biography

Simone is currently the Chief of Staff and Head of Programmes for the Medical Director at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. She is responsible for the operational delivery of a portfolio of programmes and services in the areas of clinical leadership development, patient safety improvement, and medical education, as well the management of Trust wide improvement initiatives designed to deliver sustained improvements in the quality and efficiency of patient care throughout the hospital and across networks of care.


Simone has ten years experience in the health sector in both Canada and the UK and has a background in population health and community development, child and youth mental health, professional regulation and skills development, strategic planning, policy and change management. She has previously supported a number of high impact population health initiatives, implementing multi-sector solutions to address inequalities in health outcomes and barriers to service access for vulnerable groups. She has held roles in research for health advocacy and more recently in consultancy within the NHS where she has worked with multi-professional teams to deliver organisational recovery plans within hospitals in difficulty. Simone holds a BA in Health Studies & Psychology from Queens University.
