Biography
Daniel has 10 years of experience in investment, operations, strategy and advisory services across the public, private, and non-profit sectors. This includes six years working in emerging markets, primarily in Asia, Latin America, and Sub-Saharan Africa. He was most recently a Director at Global Partnerships, a non-profit impact investor providing growth stage debt financing to social enterprises across Latin America and East Africa. At Global Partnerships, Daniel led investment research and business development for the fund’s first investments in the off-grid lighting sector, and moved to Kenya in August 2015 to start their regional office in Nairobi. Daniel has also worked for a renewable energy social enterprise in the Philippines as a Princeton in Asia Fellow, and advised Vulcan Philanthropy on their impact investing strategy in Sub-Saharan Africa. Outside of work, he has been appointed to multiple external investment committees and advisory boards, including with the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, Global Innovation Fund, Village Capital, and the Inter-American Development Bank. Daniel graduated Summa Cum Laude from Occidental College with a BA in Economics, and is currently pursuing an MBA at the Oxford Said School of Business.
