Biography

Ahmed Abu Bakr is an aspiring entrepreneur, a proven intrapreneur, and a design enthusiast from Bangladesh. Prior to the Oxford MBA, Ahmed was working as the Head of Product and Experience at Jeeon, an award-winning model of ICT-enabled healthcare delivery.

Jeeon connects patients in the rural villages of Bangladesh with qualified doctors int he city, right from the village bazaar. It does so by leveraging the power of technology, market forces, and existing market infrastructure. Having been with Jeeon since its inception, Ahmed has an in-depth understanding of the business and has managed the human centred design process in the field to bring the product platform and service design to the present stage. He has been involved with on the ground research and design, product development, recruitment and team building, as well as finance and strategy. Post MBA, Ahmed intends to return to Jeeon and scale up operations to a national level.

Ahmed is also a Skoll Scholar, and a fellow of the Unreasonable Institute. In his spare time, he enjoys playing his guitar and his PS4, learning to cook, re-reading the Potter books, and thinking about the next big idea.
