Founder and Chairperson, ARMMAN
Dr. Aparna Hegde is the Founder, Chairperson and Managing Trustee of ARMMAN. She conceptualized ARMMAN's three projects: HERO, mMitra and Arogya Sakhi home-based care, based on her experiences during residency and assistant professorship in Sion hospital, one of the premier tertiary hospitals of Mumbai. She is also the Co-Founder and Director of UPHI (Urogynecology and Pelvic Health Institute) in Gurgaon, Delhi NCR, which is envisaged as a tertiary, clinical and academic, international centre of excellence in the field of urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery.
She holds MD (Mumbai University), DNB, FCPS, DGO degrees in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a MS degree in biological sciences from Stanford University. She is a trained Advanced Endoscopic Surgeon with a Diploma in the same from BEAMS, Mumbai. She was awarded the IUGA International Fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery which she completed in the prestigious Department of Urogynecology at Cleveland Clinic Florida in 2013.
She is an accomplished researcher with multiple international research awards, more than 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has done pioneering work in the field of 3D and 2D sonographic assessment of the pelvic floor. She is the member of the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA) Education Committee and is a reviewer for the IUGA Journal and the European Journal for Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Biology.
