Head of Editorial Partnerships + Special Projects, BBC World Service Group
As Head of Editorial Partnerships & Special Projects at the BBC World Service Group, Emily reports to the Director leading a range of projects such as the BBC Komla Dumor Award for African Journalists, the Solutions-Focused Journalism initiative across BBC News including running a pan BBC News season SoICanBreathe looking at solutions to air pollution, as well as the Chevening Partnership.
Emily has been a Visiting Fellow at Said Business School, University of Oxford and a Senior Advisor to the Skoll Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, creating partnerships to source more diverse Social Entrepreneur awardees.
She previously served as an award-winning broadcaster and editor at the BBC. She founded, edited and occasionally presented The Forum, the flagship weekly radio discussion show which brings together some of the world’s most eminent minds from different disciplines to discuss ideas. Emily ran the Arts and Religion departments of the BBC World Service, and has reported and produced for the BBC across five continents.
Emily has written for a number of publications including The Guardian and the Financial Times, and chairs panels and hosts key note interviews at global conferences and events including the Skoll World Forum, Global Impact Investment Conference in Amsterdam, Ashoka UK’s 10th birthday event to the Sankalp Forum in Mumbai. Emily is also a BBC Executive Coach, and on the board of The HH Wingate grant-giving Foundation.
