Evan L. Kaplan is the former president and chief executive officer of iPass Inc the leading provider of Global Wi-Fi access for enterprises, telecoms and service providers. Kaplan brings nearly two decades of entrepreneurial and executive leadership experience to the role. Prior to iPass Mr. Kaplan as served as president, CEO and founder of Aventail Corporation (now part of Dell) where he pioneered SSLVPN technology and developed the industry’s first SSL VPN product and service. Kaplan holds an MBA from the University of Washington. Kaplan is seen as a pioneer in the Networking industry. He was named by Network World as one of the 50 most powerful people in networking and by Ernst & Young as Northwest Entrepreneur of the Year.
In the Not for Profit world Kaplan currently serves on the board of One Heart Worldwide whose mission is to decrease maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity in remote rural areas. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Washington
