Jenni Nelson

Biography

Jenni Nelson Heywood is the Program Director for Map Your World and a freelance documentary filmmaker in the San Francisco Bay area. Jenni is forging partnerships with youth-focused organizations and schools around the world helping them to become self-sufficient using the Map Your World platform and GIS mapping tools. She is invested in social change, with award winning films on topics ranging from global mental health and human rights issues to humorous character portraits depicting the human experience. Jenni's work has been recognized in film festivals worldwide and she was the associate producer for the award-winning film The Revolutionary Optimists. Jenni is a graduate of the MFA Documentary Film and Video Program at Stanford University, where her film Love Hacking was a finalist for the Student Academy Awards.
