Biography

Laura Hemrika is the Global Head of Corporate Citizenship & Foundations at Credit Suisse and the Managing Director of the Credit Suisse Foundation, leading the bank’s global social commitment in Financial Inclusion, Financial Education and Future Skills. This includes global and regional initiatives and the humanitarian and disaster relief activities of the Credit Suisse Foundation, as well as the local grant giving of the bank’s regional foundations. Laura’s team also leads the engagement of the bank’s +47’000 employees through volunteering activities. Her work includes close collaboration with the bank’s client philanthropy and impact investing work, particularly on new investment product development, public-private partnership design and thought leadership initiatives.
Prior to Credit Suisse, Laura worked in strategy consulting at Booz & Company as well as for a number of private and public sector players in the fields of microfinance, fintech, social enterprise and education. She is Chairwoman of the European Microfinance Platform and a committee member of the Swiss Capacity Building Facility, a public-private development partnership with the Swiss government. She serves on the boards of the Credit Suisse APAC Foundation, Habitat for Humanity International Switzerland and the advisory boards of the Terwilliger Center for Innovation in Shelter and Impact Linked Finance Fund.
Laura has an MA from Boston College and an MBA from London Business School and HKUST. She is a member of the Aspen Institute Global Leaders Forum.
