Olukayode(Kayode) Ajayi joined Riders for Health in April 1999 as the Technical Development Manager in Lagos, Nigeria. He studied Marine Engineering at the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, spending two years internship on the sea with the Nigerian National Shipping line before completing his course at the Southampton Institute, England. He has a Masterclass in Entrepreneurship and Analysis from the International School of Management and enrolled for Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management programme at the Havard Business School.
In his capacity as Technical Development Manager, Kayode developed the framework for the operations of Riders for Health in Nigeria and successfully managed 127 vehicles belonging to the World Health Organisation for the three years he was in that role. In 2002, he was transferred to the Support Office in the UK as the Deputy Operations Director, a position he held until September of 2007 when he became the Perfomance Director in charge of maintaining standards across the organisation. Kayode was instrumental in the setting up of Riders for Health programmes in The Gambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In 2014, Kayode resumed as the Country Director for the Nigeria Programme, since which he and his team have grown the income revenue by 168% to date and currently manages over 300 vehicles carrying out various activities ranging from healthcare delivery to supply chain, from sample transportation to monitoring and evaluation.
Kayode is married with three beautiful children.
