Ricardo Michel

Biography

Ricardo Michel is the Director of the Center for Transformational Partnerships in the U.S. Global Development Lab at USAID, responsible for the overall strategic utilization of local and global public-private partnerships for accelerated sustainable development. Previously, Michel served as Acting Director for the Office of Innovation and Development Alliances, where he oversaw the agency’s efforts to find innovative solutions to address development challenges. Michel also served as the senior adviser for economic growth and trade in the Agency’s Bureau for Africa. Before joining USAID, Michel served at the Export-Import Bank of the United States as senior project officer in the Project and Structured Finance Division and as international business development officer for Africa. He also worked as an independent consultant for a private equity fund in Botswana and the African Development Foundation. Michel worked as an investment banker for JPMorgan Securities Inc. in New York and as a CPA for Arthur Andersen LLP in Philadelphia and Bermuda. Michel received his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from Temple University
