Biography

Rupal Patel is Director of Sustainable Resources and Development for Renewable Resources Group (RRG) where she works at the intersection of agriculture, water and energy. Her focus has been on the development of a 1,600 MW solar project pipeline on private property that was previously disturbed by agricultural operations, but faces significant water supply constraints. Rupal is also responsible for identifying and implementing sustainability measures throughout RRG’s agricultural portfolio. Rupal was the Campaign and Policy Director for Communities for Clean Ports, a project of the non-profit group, EndOil, where she developed and advocated for state and local policies to reduce air pollution impacts from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach operations on neighboring communities and the South Coast. Rupal has extensive experience on poverty and immigration issues and worked for various organizations including the Council of Michigan Foundations and the California Immigrant Policy Center. Rupal received her BA in Sociology and a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Michigan. She holds a LEED Green Associate credential from the U.S. Green Building Council.
