Biography
Sandra leads a team at RBC responsible for global strategy in environmental and social risk management, environmental products and services, bank-wide environmental programs, and external relations related to corporate sustainability. Sandra also leads RBC’s Social Finance Initiative, a $20 million program to catalyse the use of financial markets to solve environmental and social issues.
Sandra joined RBC in 1997 as an industry analyst. Prior to entering the banking sector, Sandra was a research scientist and then a consultant, specializing in Environmental and Social Impact Assessments for international resource sector development.
Sandra presently sits on the Board of the Toronto Atmospheric Fund, where she also chairs its Grants Committee, and she is a Board member and Finance Committee member at Pollution Probe. She is an appointee to Minister Jason Kenney’s Advisory Council on Social Innovation. She writes a quarterly column on corporate sustainability for Listed Magazine.
Sandra has an M.A.Sc. in Chemical Engineering. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a licensed professional engineer. She lives with her husband and two children in Toronto.
