Biography

Yiming Ma leads African investments for the Pearson Affordable Learning Fund (PALF), a $15 million education-focused venture fund that invests in for-profit, scalable enterprises that address the growing demand for affordable education. In his role, he provides strategic management advice to companies across South Africa, Ghana, Kenya and India. Yiming is also an active advisor on Pearson's global strategy, efficacy, research and innovation agenda as well as a frequent contributor to high level policy discussions and roundtables with a variety of foundations, NGOs, governments and donor agencies. Yiming also represents Pearson on the board of eAdvance, a network of high quality low-fee private schools in South Africa.

Previously, Yiming was a consultant in McKinsey and Company's Corporate Finance and Strategy practice in New York. He has also worked at Goldman Sachs Investment Partners in New York and graduated with high distinction from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
