Co-Founder & CEO, Vera Solutions
Zak Kaufman serves as Co-Founder and CEO of Vera Solutions, a social enterprise that helps nonprofits adopt cloud and mobile technology to improve their day-to-day operations. Now based in Geneva, Switzerland, Zak couples 5 years of field experience working in public health across Southern Africa and Latin America with 7 years of experience architecting data solutions for dozens of NGOs around the world. His recent clients have ranged from Pact Inc and the Skoll Foundation to the Gavi Alliance, UNICEF, and Aga Khan Foundation. Since 2010, Vera Solutions has worked with more than 165 organizations across more than 45 countries.
Zak studied in the UK on a Marshall Scholarship, completing an MSc and PhD in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where he received the Cicely Williams Prize. He graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College and has been honored as a Truman Scholar, Bluhm/Helfand Social Innovation Fellow, and Forbes 30 Under 30 Social Entrepreneur. Vera Solutions, meanwhile, has been honored with fellowships, awards, and recognition from Echoing Green, the Mulago Foundation, Dasra, Entrepreneur Magazine, and Harvard Business School. While Zak's passion lies in improving health worldwide, he finds joy in the diversity of multi-sectoral problems that his team at Vera has the privilege of helping organizations solve.
