Until the onset of the global pandemic in 2020, the Skoll Foundation has held the Skoll World Forum in Oxford, UK, each year since 2004, bringing together thousands of social innovators and entrepreneurs from across sectors and geographies to advance innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing problems.
It had been our sincere hope to safely hold a hybrid Skoll World Forum in Oxford this April, with both in-person and virtual elements. For the past few months, our optimism was tempered as we continued to monitor the serious impact of the latest COVID-19 variant on communities and health systems across the globe.
With the health and safety of our global community as our top priority, we have made the difficult decision to move this year’s Forum online, with no in-person components.
The omicron variant has placed an enormous strain on healthcare infrastructures in nearly every region across the globe. Gathering thousands of delegates from all over the world in person is too great a risk to take.
We are very disappointed not to be able to gather in person. The Forum is a unique opportunity to connect, share learnings, and take action to help drive social progress.
Our team is working diligently to ensure that the innovative and inspirational spirit of the Forum infuses the all-virtual experience with connection and collective action. With your help and that of our community, this year’s gathering will continue to serve as a platform for advancing transformational social change.
The all-virtual Forum will take place April 6-8 with a condensed schedule that offers many opportunities for curated learning and connection. We hope you’ll join the plenaries, sessions, and discussions on April 6-7 and attend or host an event during our “Ecosystem Day” on April 8, featuring a full day of network-hosted programming online.
The all-virtual 2022 Skoll World Forum is free for all to attend online. Please review our FAQs or send us a note at registration@skoll.org if we can help answer any other questions. We will be updating our website with more details as they become available. If you’d like to be informed when our virtual registration launches, sign up for our Skoll newsletter.
Our 2022 Forum theme, “Face/Forward”, reminds us of the importance of learning from the past and moving collectively in the direction of progress, facing today’s challenges and advancing solutions. We are so grateful to be able to continue to come together with you online.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to create an energizing and activating all-virtual experience. We look forward to seeing you online at the Skoll World Forum April 6-8!
