Announcing the 2025 Skoll Fellows: Celebrating Proximate Leaders Shaping the Future of Social Change

March 19, 2025

By Norma Rodriguez - Skoll Foundation, By Claire Wathen -

We are thrilled to welcome the 2025 Skoll Fellows: 35 extraordinary leaders from across the globe driving change at the intersections of community, justice, innovation, and impact. They are building bridges, shifting narratives, and creating pathways to a more inclusive future.

A Journey of Connection

The Skoll Fellows network is a year-round journey of mutual care, shared learning, and regional connections. Beginning at the Skoll World Forum and continuing throughout the year, this network fosters camaraderie and collective action. Since the Skoll Fellowship program launch in 2018, the network of 200+ leaders from 56 countries has shown how connection, access, and visibility accelerates transformational social change.

Leading at the Intersections

The 2025 Skoll Fellows are leaders working in lockstep with communities to build power, capacity, and resilience. These leaders are:

  • Building Community: Connecting youth to global platforms, creating spaces for creativity, and fostering empowerment within local communities.
  • Shifting Knowledge and Resources: Reimagining inclusive communities and building technology infrastructure for better connectivity.
  • Changing Narratives: Elevating marginalized voices and amplifying stories often left out of the conversation.

A Tapestry of Global Experience

This year’s cohort includes proximate leaders from regions such as Argentina, Brazil, Cambodia, Colombia, Guatemala, Hawaii, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Senegal, Singapore, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. This diverse group represents a wide array of perspectives vital for building healthy ecosystems.

Meet the 2025 Skoll Fellows

The 2025 cohort is joined by returning Senior Fellows, who are integral to co-creating and co-hosting the Fellowship network alongside the Skoll Foundation team. Together, they foster shared knowledge and guide the incoming cohort, building at the speed of trust. Senior Fellows and alumni Fellows nominated 50% of the incoming cohort.
