Biography
Gillian Caldwell is a 2025 Skoll Award winning consultant specializing in strategic planning, organizational development and executive coaching for foundations, nonprofits and companies. She was previously appointed by President Biden to serve as the Chief Climate Officer and Deputy Assistant Administrator at the US Agency for International Development (USAID). She also served as CEO of Global Witness, Campaign Director for 1Sky (now 350.org), and Executive Director of WITNESS. She is an attorney and filmmaker and a recipient of numerous awards and honors for social entrepreneurship. She received her magna cum laude BA from Harvard University and a J.D. from Georgetown University.
