A marine biologist and social entrepreneur with more than two decades' experience at the interface of ocean protection and social justice, Al has extensive experience building and leading organisations, teams and boards across the environmental and climate sectors.
Al is a Skoll Awardee, TED fellow and a National Geographic Explorer. He holds a PhD in marine ecology and an honorary doctorate of science from the University of Edinburgh.
