Biography
Julie Smith is the Director of Development at Medic Mobile and works with funding partners to sustain Medic’s programming and organizational capacity. Previously, she worked as the Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships for Emory University at the Rollins School of Public Health. In her role, she worked with corporate, foundation, and other strategic partners to build programs and student and faculty support for the School. Prior to her position at Emory, Julie was at Georgia State University as the Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. For 10 years prior to working in academia, Julie served as the Director of Public-Private Partnerships at the CDC Foundation. As such, she was charged with helping to connect outside resources and partners with scientists from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to build effective public health programs. At the CDC Foundation, Julie worked with federal, bi-lateral, and corporate and foundation funders.
Julie received a master’s degree in urban policy studies from Georgia State University in 2008 and holds a bachelor’s degree from Austin Peay State University in Clarkesville, TN.
