Biography
Lorene Arey is founder of the Clara Fund, a family foundation focused in two key areas: supporting gender equality and sustainable markets.
Prior to establishing Clara Fund, Lorene was head of Worldwide Communications at Cisco Systems where she was she played a key role in shaping and positioning Cisco’s public image. The accomplishments of Lorene’s team were spotlighted in the Wall Street Journal in 2000 when Cisco was recognized as the company with the best publicity across all industries worldwide for 1999.
Lorene currently serves on the Board of Directors for B Lab, is a founding board member for Healing Cultures, is a Guarantor for MicroCredit Enterprises, and serves on the Advisory Board for the Institute for Leadership Studies, Loyola Marymount. She’s a member of Women Moving Millions and The Philanthropy Workshop. She has served on the Board of Directors for Unitus, Women Thrive, Count-Me-In and the Lucile Packard Foundation. Lorene holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with Highest Distinction.
