Biography
Vanessa Kirsch is Founder and Co-CEO of New Profit, a venture philanthropy organization. She co-leads the organization in setting a bold vision to shape the future of philanthropy and catalyze a diverse next generation of social entrepreneurs. Prior to founding New Profit in 1998, Vanessa launched two other social enterprises, Public Allies and the Women’s Information Network (WIN).
Vanessa has been widely recognized for her work in media outlets including Forbes, Fortune, U.S. News & World Report, CNNMoney, The NonProfit Times, and Inside Philanthropy. She has also been published in the Harvard Business Review, Fast Company Co.Exist, and other publications.
She is a graduate of Tufts University and serves on the board of advisors of Tufts’ Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life. She is on the board of directors of The Beloved Community Center, and previously served on the boards of Eye to Eye, New Leaders, Stand for Children, The Mission Continues, Jumpstart, and College Summit.
