Biography
Doug Rutzen is President and CEO of the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law, which has worked on the legal environment for civil society, social entrepreneurship, and philanthropy in 100 countries. Doug also teaches international civil society law at Georgetown Law.
Upon Czechoslovakia’s transition to democracy, Doug was Legal Advisor in the Czechoslovak Parliament. In private practice, Doug engaged in Supreme Court litigation and was co-counsel on the first lawsuit against Qaddafi for the bombing of Pan Am 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland.
In addition to his legal career, Doug helped develop social enterprises for people with disabilities in the Caribbean and South America. Doug is a graduate of Yale Law School with undergraduate studies at Cornell and Worcester College, Oxford.
