Biography
Bess Rothenberg is the Deputy Vice President for the Office of Strategy and Impact at the Ford Foundation. In this role, she oversees strategy, evaluation, grantmaking effectiveness, data governance, and the embedding of BUILD-like approaches into Ford’s work.
Previously, Bess worked at Wellspring Advisors, International Women’s Health Coalition, and American Jewish World Service. She earned a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Virginia, and was an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Clemson University.
