The Skoll Foundation advances its mission through two separate entities: the Skoll Foundation, a private foundation, and the Skoll Fund, a supporting organization associated with the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. Through these two entities, the Skoll Foundation advances the work of social entrepreneurs. Additionally, the Skoll Foundation provided financial support to the Skoll Global Threats Fund, a separate private foundation, from 2009-2017. The Skoll Global Threats Fund sunset at the end of 2017, spinning off its pandemics and climate work into standalone initiatives, at Ending Pandemics and the Climate Advocacy Lab, respectively. Peace and security work returned to the Skoll Foundation.
The Skoll Foundation has invested more than $1.2 billion worldwide, including the Skoll Awards for Social Entrepreneurship and the Skoll Global Threats Fund. The Skoll Foundation has invested in 425 organizations on five continents.
Assets
As of December 31, 2024, the Skoll Foundation assets were $811 million and the Skoll Fund assets were $942 million. Combined assets totaled $1,753 million. (2024 figures are unaudited and subject to change.)

In 2024, the Skoll Foundation and the Skoll Fund awarded a total of $72 million in grants and disbursed $96 million in grant payments.
