Biography
Mpindi Abaas is the CEO and Co-founder of the Media Challenge Initiative, a youth-driven non-profit building the next generation of journalists in Uganda. Mpindi believes that good journalism can make the world a better place through the stories journalists tell and how they tell them. Under MCI, Mpindi heads the MCI Media Hub, a space incubating journalism innovations for media viability and Solutions Now Africa, the continent’s first solutions journalism dedicated youth newsroom working to challenge negative narratives about Africa and Switch Africa centering young people as focus of stories. His story has been published in the Huffington post, CNN Africa Change makers, JAM LAB, DW Akademie and in 2018 his work was highlighted by President Barack Obama in his #Mandela 100 lecture in South Africa.
