Biography
Aketa Marie Williams leads Spitfire Strategies’ training and learning programming for social good leaders and communicators. Spitfire has fundamental values rooted in one core principle: everyone belongs and has the power to spark change. We help our clients and their work in communities throughout the country and worldwide, all in the pursuit of representing the best interests of people and the planet.
Aketa has landed client coverage in publications such as The Economist, TIME, The New York Times and NPR as well as MSNBC, CNN and NPR. Previously, Aketa served as managing director of communications for the Sierra Health Foundation and its nonprofit intermediary; presidential appointee in the US Department of Education; communications director in the U.S. House of Representatives, and policy and research assistant in the Tennessee State Legislature.
An avid reader, her favorite fiction book is the remarkable Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison.
