Biography
Akudo Oguaghamba is a Queer Feminist Activist and human rights defender dedicated to advancing gender equality and social justice. As Founder/Executive Director of Women’s Health and Equal Rights (WHER) Initiative, she has transformed WHER into a structured organization with a safe house, 11 staff, and 25 volunteers, reaching over 4,500 LBQ-GNC persons through advocacy, socio-economic empowerment, and psychosocial support. A former Co-Chair of PAN-AFRICAN ILGA and board member of All-Out and Vision Spring Initiative, Akudo has championed LGBTIQ rights across Africa. Recognized as Best LGBTIQ Leader (2023) and awarded the Global LGBTIQ Recognition Award (2024), she holds a Master’s in Project Management and certifications in Grant Writing and Gender Development. A dynamic leader, Akudo continues to drive transformative change for marginalized communities.
