Biography
Amanda McClelland began her career as a Registered Nurse in Australia, specializing in pediatrics and remote health. In 2004, she joined the Red Cross, providing care in natural disasters, conflict zones, and public health emergencies. She later became the Global Emergency Health Advisor for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), leading responses to major health crises, including the 2014 Ebola epidemic in West Africa, for which she received the 2015 Florence Nightingale Medal.
Currently, Amanda is the Senior Vice President of the Prevent Epidemics team at Resolve to Save Lives, focusing on enhancing epidemic preparedness and response globally. She holds an MBA in International Health Management, a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and various diplomas in disaster response and refugee health
