Biography

Amanda Rossini Martins is a Brazilian climate activist, lawyer, and more-than-human rights researcher. Amanda has specialized in Environmental Law in Brazil and holds a master’s degree from the European Master’s Programme in Human Rights and Democratization. She has published a book on international refugee law and several papers addressing the intersectional protection of more-than-human rights. As a member of the collective Latinas por el Clima, she advocates for intersectional climate justice from an ecofeminist perspective. Committed to amplifying voices from the Global South and promoting decolonized epistemology, she has engaged in numerous local projects addressing the impacts of extreme climate events, climate education, and emergency aid initiatives. Amanda firmly believes in the collective power of social movements to effect meaningful change and strives to reflect her strength and political stance as a Latin American woman in every aspect of her life.
