Biography
Anne-Marea Griffin built her career at the intersection of U.S.–Africa relations, philanthropy, policy advocacy, and program management. She recently was Senior Fellow at Center for American Progress and currently Senior Advisor at the Africa-America Institute. Anne was Senior Director at UNICEFUSA, and advised philanthropies such as Ford, ELMA,Carnegie and Mastercard. For 22 years in Africa, she supported strategy and partnership development across education, youth leadership, and social change initiatives.
While in E. Africa, Anne founded an NGO dedicated to amplifying student voice through the Int’l Fellowship Program, research networks and other innovative programming. She began her career in Wash, DC advancing foreign policy advocacy at TransAfrica before moving to Capitol Hill as staff on the House Subcommittee on Africa.
Dr. Griffin has a BA from Harvard, MA from Northwestern and DBA from the Univ of Bath.
