Biography
Anne-Marea Griffin is Senior Fellow for Africa at the Center for American Progress, a position she has held for 2 years. Her professional career has consisted of positions at the Ford Foundation, MasterCard Foundation and Elma Philanthropies, as well as with NGOs, think tanks and on Capitol Hill, focusing on African development, policy analysis and grantmaking.
Her 20+ year career began with foreign policy advocacy at TransAfrica, later joining the House Subcommittee on Africa. Anne has served as partnership lead with UNICEF USA and the US African Development Foundation. She lived and worked in various parts of Africa for 25 years, the last nine in South Africa.
Dr. Griffin is a graduate of Harvard, Northwestern, and earned her doctorate from the University of Bath in Business Management.
