Biography

Archana Soreng, a member of the Khadia Tribe from Odisha, India, has been actively working on climate action, focusing on the intersection of Indigenous Peoples' rights, climate philanthropy, and biodiversity conservation. She was part of the inaugural cohort of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Youth Advisory Group on Climate Change (2020–2023).
Currently, Archana is a Skoll World Forum Fellow (2024) and serves on the Climate Advisory Council of the Rockefeller Foundation. She collaborates with a global coalition of Indigenous Peoples, Local Communities, and Afro-descendant communities to strengthen the leadership and agency of young leaders in Asia. She currently also serves as the Steering Committee Member of Youth Climate Justice Fund (YCJF). Archana is also dedicated to ensuring that climate finance and philanthropy are accessible to young people and Indigenous communities, fostering inclusive and impactful climate solutions.
