Biography
H.E. Dr. Ayele Teshome is a notable leader in Ethiopia's healthcare system, currently serving as the State Minister of the Health System Capacity Building Wing at the Ministry of Health. Previously, he was the CEO of Yekatit 12 Medical Hospital and an associate professor in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Ayele implemented a fully digitized healthcare system, enhancing monitoring and introducing over eight new sub-specialty services. He began his career as a general practitioner and emergency surgery officer after graduating from Addis Ababa University. His commitment extends beyond healthcare; he established four protected forests, demonstrating his dedication to environmental sustainability. As director of the Health Service Quality Directorate, he developed key strategies that improved service delivery nationwide.
