Beadie Finzi

Biography

Beadie Finzi is one of the co-directors of Doc Society, a non profit with team based in Europe, East Africa, the Americas and Australia. For 20 years, we have worked to resource the most exciting independent documentary filmmakers in the world.

We are advocates and practitioners of narrative strategy. Exploring the full potential of storytelling alongside traditional advocacy, to help build power in communities and transform societies over time. This work has developed at scale with programmes like Good Pitch, the Climate Story Unit and now the Democracy Story Unit which help demonstrate the imperative of independent media.

Beyond the right of artists to self-expression we are focused on the right of all citizens to access media in in the public interest and are working with allies to imagine more robust and equitable funding and distribution systems, fit for the technological and political challenges of the 21st century.
