Benjamin Boakye

Biography

Benjamin Boakye is an Energy Governance Professional and Executive Director at the Africa Centre for Energy Policy. With extensive experience in extractive sector governance, he has contributed to shaping legal frameworks for resource management in Africa.

Previously, he served as Deputy Executive Director, Programmes Director, and Operations Director, overseeing research and programmes. He has consulted for the World Bank, UNDP, and others on corporate governance, fiscal policy, and contract management.

Benjamin has spoken at international conferences on revenue generation, expenditure, and power sector reforms. He works with host communities on extractive project development and revenue redistribution.

Committed to Africa’s role in the energy transition, he holds an MSc in Energy Studies from the University of Dundee and a BA in Sociology and Information Studies from the University of Ghana.
