Bess Rothenberg

Biography

Bess Rothenberg is the Deputy Vice President for the Office of Strategy and Impact (OSI) at the Ford Foundation. In this role, she oversees three cross-programmatic teams: the Office of Strategy and Learning (OSL), Ford Global Fellows Program, and the BUILD program.

Bess has over 20 years of experience working for funders and nonprofits focused on social justice. She earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Virginia. She was a Fulbright Doctoral Fellow at Humboldt University in Berlin, and earned her B.A. in Sociology from Boston University.
