Biography
Boris Bulayev is the CEO and Co-Founder of Educate!, which empowers youth in East Africa with the skills to succeed in today’s economy. A former refugee from Latvia, Boris believes in the transformative power of mentorship and education—opportunities that helped him rise from welfare and food stamps in the US to where he is today.
Under his leadership, Educate! has become the largest youth employment and skills provider in East Africa, impacting over 390,000 youth in Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya. The organization has earned accolades like the 2018 Klaus J. Jacobs Prize and the 2015 WISE Award.
Boris previously worked at Loeb Enterprises and has been recognized with the 2011 Grinnell College Young Innovator for Social Justice Prize and two-time inclusion in Forbes’ Top 30 Under 30 Social Entrepreneurs.
