Catherine is CEO of the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation, the largest independent community foundation in Australia. Catherine has a deep knowledge of how philanthropy can work with not for profit organisations as a social investor and partner to support positive change within communities. Within its broader granting and initiatives portfolio, the Foundation supports innovative social change projects and the start-up and scaling up of social enterprises.
Prior to her role with the Foundation, Catherine worked in the not-for-profit sector in legal and CEO roles for 11 years and then spent ten years advising many Australian foundations and not for profits on governance, organisational development and strategy, as well as related legal issues. She is the author of Great Foundations a 360° guide to building resilient and effective not for profit organisations (ACER Press, 2010). Catherine is a lawyer and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
