Cecilia Mundaca Shah

Biography

Dr. Shah serves as the Foundation’s primary policy, advocacy, and technical lead on global health security, providing strategic management and oversight to the Foundation’s portfolio on pandemic preparedness, antimicrobial resistance, immunization, malaria, and displacement.
Before joining the UN Foundation, Cecilia led the National Academy of Medicine’s (NAM) team that managed the work of the G20 High-Level Independent Panel on Financing the Global Commons for Pandemic Preparedness and Response. At NAM, Cecilia oversaw critical initiatives on health security, emerging infectious diseases, One Health, and aging. Additionally, Cecilia served as NAM’s Director of the Forum on Microbial Threats, Global Roadmap on Healthy Longevity, and the Multi-Stakeholder Initiative for Creating a Global Health Risk Framework. Previously, she directed the Surveillance Center of the Emerging Infections Program at the U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit 6 in Peru.
