Chanelle Elaine

Visionary Architect of Story and PossibilityKashif Incubator

Biography

Chanelle Elaine is a Black feminist narrative disruptor who believes storytelling builds worlds, honoring our narratives and imagining new futures. As Founder of Kashif Incubator, she creates pathways for storytellers whose work holds our fantastical imaginings, collective wounds, and visions for what's possible. Kashif reimagines storytelling as cultural care, ensuring artists are holistically resourced, while practicing an internal culture of centering self, family, then work.
Chanelle has partnered with the Black Feminist Fund, Women & Justice Project, and Crenshaw Dairy Mart. Her work has been supported by NoVo, Surdna, & Ford foundations. She executive produced the award-winning documentary Beyond Survival, which also screened at San Quentin Prison and contributed to policy changes in several states. She produced Netflix's First Match, serves on the Board of I Am Why, and was a fellow with Sundance, IFP, Tribeca and Film Independent. She holds an MFA from Columbia University.
